There are a couple of ways to send a payment using Shieldpay. These are explained below. As opposed to most money business, we do not have a "sending limit" . We only have a "minimum sending amount" which is currently £1.00. We may, in our discretion, impose "sending limits" if we believe that there is a particular risk (for example to comply with money laundering regulations) to the Shieldpay customer, or ourselves or otherwise as required to comply with our bank account requirements.
Sending money on a merchant's website
If you're transacting on a partner site, you'll find the Pay with Shieldpay button when you come to the checkout on their website. To send a payment to someone via Shieldpay, click the button on the merchant’s website (or other point of sale) to pay that merchant. You may be asked to create a Shieldpay account if you don't already have one.
Sending money from shieldpay.com
You can simply use the Send Money function in the account interface and provide the email address of the intended recipient. We will then contact the intended recipient that you have requested to pay them through Shieldpay. If the payee has accepted this request, we will ask them to create an account. At this point we'll verify their identity to ensure that you know that you are dealing with a genuine and real person. Once you and the payee have confirmed that you are happy to transact (release and withdraw the payment) we will generally process the payment instruction within 24 hours and pay the amount to the account of the recipient (For more information see "How do I receive payments?").
